I had mostly forgotten about this picture taken at a hotel in Florida. They had replaced the standard buttons found in an elevator with this nice Windows based touch screen system that showed both the numbers of the floor to control the elevator and wonderful Sea World advertising! Only, were we to meet our Doom half way up to our room on the 15th floor???

PStats development has been moving along very nicely. Previously all configuration for each site had to be in an individual configuration file and the full command be added to a cron job like:

* * * * * /usr/bin/Pstats --config /etc/pstats/site1.config
* * * * * /usr/bin/Pstats --config /etc/pstats/site2.config

Now that is all changing. We have worked hard to bring a web configuration interface that will easily allow users & customers to login and modify their own site prefs automatically. PStats will run as a daemon and pull in its configuration every 10 minutes.

We are currently working on bringing together a programming community here in Southern Illinois. It would be a lot of fun to build up a local group like this especially in our area. There is a serious lack of technology sector jobs in Southern Illinois and the jobs that are available usually are closer to St. Louis or Springfield.
