This is a nice little camera for the price. Having been without a camera for almost a year since I sold my Kodak Z1012, we needed a camera quick and cheap for Christmas pictures. The Kodak Z915 definitely filled the much needed roll as a great family point and shoot camera that you can hand to Aunt Peggy and still get a good shot. Easy use and great battery life are also features of this camera, two very important details often being overlooked by the power hungry cameras of today.

Features:

  • 10MP
  • 10x optical zoom (GREAT!)
  • 5X digital/50x total zoom when combined with digital (Not Recommended)
  • 35mm equivalent lens focal length: 35-350mm
  • Image Stabilization
  • Great battery life. About 300 photos max resolution with flash on using Energizer Rechargeable.
  • Built-in flash
  • ISO 100, ISO 800, ISO 400, ISO 200, ISO auto, ISO 64, ISO 1600

Preset Photo Modes:
Candle, Beach, Snow, High sensitivity, Landscape, Portrait mode, Stage, Text, Museum, Back light, Night portrait, Self-portrait, Children, Fireworks, Night landscape, Panorama assist, Flower, Sunset

Nagitives:
In low level light conditions, this camera's photo quality does degrade quickly. Even if placed on a tripod the images come out with a lot of noise (red and blue spots all over the image). The light conditions have to be very bright as well. In our house 7 60watt light bulbs in our small living room isn't enough to produce clear pictures. This is the cause for the low rating, camera is basically worthless indoors in the late evening.

When there is enough light, the pictures are excellent and mostly in focus. I would say 1 out of 10 pictures may be blurry due to movement of the camera during the photo if the camera is being held. This is much better than previous Kodak cameras I have reviewed like the Kodak Z1285 which was always blurry even if on a tripod.

I have posted example photos of this camera in extreme lighting conditions. If you want to see what this camera can do in the best environment then view the camera info on amazon by visiting the product page {here}. The photos I have posted are difficult shots for any camera and should be considered as such.
